Tigris v1 launched in September 2022 with a basic UI but with innovative and unique smart trading contracts that allowed (and still do) the platform to offer the fastest trading experience thanks to the atomic execution of trades. After the pause for the audit and the development of the new UX and UI, Tigris v2 is finally ready for its launch.

Tigris v2 is the culmination of months of hard work on both smart contract and user experience sides.

What was updated:

Audited contracts are now deployed and the website has been completely redesigned.

More in detail:

  • The landing page has been totally redesigned to show Tigris best features and characteristics
  • The wallet connector provider has been changed in order to allow for a smoother user experience flow and making it easier to use the platform on mobile.
  • When trading all major events (Set/update order, trade execution etc.) are now shown in the notification box.
  • The Pairs panel now has a favourite section and the search function has been improved.

The staking model has gone through a complete overhaul:
Users can deposit and lock tigUSD to provide liquidity to the StableVault.
By locking for a period ranging from 7 days to 365 days, the user will receive shares that will provide higher payouts to those who opt for longer lock-up periods. Each lock is minted as an NFT that can be sent to another wallet or exchanged on the secondary market.

What is new:

Trading

It’s now possible to click on an open position to show its relative chart. Orders and open positions are shown directly on the chart. Take Profit, Stop Loss and Liquidation lines can be dragged and moved to easily change the hit price. It’s also possible to set SL and TP orders from the open positions tab.

All trades are now executed in one click thanks to the new Proxy Wallet. After approving and funding it when trading for the first time users can have a CEX-like experience on chain.

The chart backend was updated and charts now load instantly.

Trading stats are now readily available both as a performance chart under the open position tab and as detailed report of all trades that can be downloaded as a pdf file. Some more stats are also shown in the new traders profile page.

Tigris now uses Pyth as its main oracle provider as its price feeds have proven to be safe and reliable.

The formula to calculate the spread on each pair has been changed in order to account for short term market volatility. A safety feature was also implemented as users can only trade if the last data from Pyth is max 10 seconds old so that noone can trade with old prices. This also means that markets like Stocks and Forex open and close automatically.

This is a surface level report of Tigris new functionalities and their implications for traders, stakers and Gov NFT holders. Future articles will explore in depth all the specific aspects of the protocol so stay tuned!
